Blue Hill launched  flavors
such as butternut squash, beet, carrot, and tomato. Now a yogurt bar in Murray's Cheese store in New York offers tomato yogurt and kimchee yogurt.
Chobani, the biz's big brand, has a cafe in SoHo offering yogurt topped with hummus chickpeas, zaatar , olive oil with spinach and garlic dip and cucumber, olive oil and mint leaves. ..These delicious and healthy combos are standard in the Middle East. 
A New York phenomen ?

Not sure, Raita is an  Indian cuncumber and Yogurt salad ( see the recipe below)
Japan Haagen-Dazs has two vegetable ice creams tomato-cherry and carrot orange. In Rome to you now find artisanal gelati made with gorgonzola, with mortadella and pistachio, with artichokes, even with anchovies and smoked salmon served with beer and pairings. Another gelateria in Nice South France creates olive oil ice cream. Many variations for our pleasure ...


Raita Recipe

Ingredients
2 cups plain whole milk or low-fat yogurt
2 cups grated English or Persian cucumber (unpeeled)
1 clove garlic, minced
4 sprigs fresh mint, leaves only, minced finely
1 teaspoon kosher salt
2 tablespoons golden raisins
Freshly ground black pepper
Directions
Whisk the yogurt until smooth. Add the rest of the ingredients, plus a little freshly ground black pepper if you like. Stir, chill, and serve.
