FASHION - Galliano’s Debut for Maison Martin Margiela

by Avi Manullang

On January 12, 2015, Galliano displayed his comeback as the creative director for the Maison Martin Margiela. In the midst  of London’s Mens Fashion Week, Galliano debuted his women’s Artisanal Spring 2015 show  for Margiela.
This collection was much anticipated since his fall in Spring 2011 from his own Galliano label and the house of Christian Dior. The collection showed dramatic garments that Galliano is very well known for but kept the simplicity and innovation of Maison Margiela
In the 90s where fashion houses took to celebrities and supermodels to gain popularity, Margiela avoided the hype and allowed his clothes to speak for itself.
He avoided taking pictures and stepping out to the runway at the end of his runway show. The House of Margiela will definitely take a change with the adoption of John Galliano as the creative director. The mesh of the Galliano’s romanticism and Margiela’sunique DNA is a definite innovation for the fashion industry.
